8-27-00You don't need to worry if they eat this finger paint. Use plain yogurt and mix with a few drops of food coloring. Non-toxic and can be restored in fridge using the yogurt container. Dries shiny and with texture.
4-15-00My Kids love shaving cream painting, but the perfumes in them drive me crazy! I came across this recipe for cream made from shampoo, it smells better and is so much cheaper then shaving cream. Mix 3 teaspoons Shampoo with a small amount of water in a mixing bowl. Whip with an electric mixer until it becomes like shaving cream. Add food coloring if desired. We made beautiful blue and purple cream and the strawberry smell was much nicer then shaving cream!

4-12-00Sidewalk Paint You'll need: 1/4 cup cornstarch 1/4 cup water 6-8 drops of food coloring Mix the cornstarch and cold water together. Add food coloring and stir. Repeat to make different colors. NOTE: This paint can be easily washed off with water and is great for painting large areas temporarily!!!

Date: 1-15-00Here's a great idea for not wasting too much paint. First, take a margarine container lid. then, about 5 or 6 plastic pop bottle caps. You hot-glue the caps to the inside of the lid, fill each one with a different color, and voilą! The kids can use small paintbrushes, or even their fingers. They get a variety of different colors, but don't use up too much paint!

When the "puffy paint" dries, it is raised and sparkles! E-Mail: aactchrday@aol.com Activity: Homemade Colored Glue Paint Materials White school glue Wilton's Cake Food Coloring empty glue bottles or small squeeze bottles Procedure 1. Divide the glue into how many different colors you want to make 2. Add food coloring (Hint~~~ The Wilton's Cake Colors are VERY concentrated. I use a plastic knife to measure out how much I need. I dip the end of the knife into the food coloring and how much covers the end of the knife is how much I use). 3. Pour glue into squeeze containers This glue is MUCH more economical than what you can buy in the store. Also, if you use the Wilton's Cake Colors, you can make almost any color of glue you can imagine. Submitted By: Daylene

In the saucepan, mix flour with 1/2 cup of water to form a paste 2. Add the rest of the water and cook over low heat until thick and clear 3. Let cool 4. Add the glycerin and borax 5. Listerine as a preservative 1 Tbs. glycerin screw top jars saucepan Procedure 1. In the saucepan, mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup of cold water to make a smooth paste 2. Add the hot water, stirring to prevent lumps 3. Cook over low heat until mixture begins to boil 4. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup cold water and Listerine 5. Divide and pour into jars. 6. While stirring, gradually add water. Stir until the paint is smooth. 3. Add food coloring. Mix vinegar and baking soda together in a small bowl 2. When mixture stops bubbling, add cornstarch and glycerin. Mix well 3. Pour mixture into bottle caps 4. Add several drops of food coloring to the mixture in the bottle caps 5. Let dry overnight |
